Netflix’s Selling Sunset spin-off, Selling the OC, brought a whole new cast of real estate agents for everyone to obsess over last summer. And, sure, while it’s *technically* a show about real estate, the agents’ personal lives always have a funny way of getting into the mix. Not that anyone minds that! Although, I'm sure Chrishell Stause has some thoughts on the topic.

One OC star you definitely were bound to have some big Qs about is one very tall and very, very handsome Tyler Stanaland. The agent was actually married to actress Brittany Snow (of Pitch Perfect fame) and the two had a really cute love story... until they didn't.

Just after the show aired in 2022, the pair announced they were separating after two years of marriage in a joint Instagram, with sources telling People that Tyler's involvement with Selling the OC and the ensuing drama simply "broke them."Brittany has since filed for divorce, telling People that she's focusing on herself and tuning out the noise.

These two kept their romance pretty under wraps when they were together, but they did share a few details about their love over the years. Here’s what you need to know about their whole timeline:

2018: The couple starts dating.

Brittany and Tyler first started dating in 2018 after crushing hardcore on each other from a distance.

While they had some friends in common, Tyler went about things the old fashioned way and, instead of waiting to swipe right, he decided to just slide straight into Brittany’s DMs. Despite a "really lame pickup line," (which is what Brittany told People), things seem to have worked out just fine for Tyler so far.

Brittany told People that their first date was dinner at a local Mexican restaurant.

"We got tacos after years of being infatuated with one another and forgot how to speak entirely," Tyler shared. "There was a certain amount of tequila consumed, and then we just started talking a lot. Then we fell in love and nothing's really changed, we're still eating tacos and margaritas together."

February 2019: They get engaged.

Brittany and Tyler got engaged on February 19, 2019, but they kept things pretty quiet for a while.

In an Instagram post that’s since been removed (why, you ask? It's unclear), Brittany wrote, “A couple weeks ago, I said ‘YES’ about a million times to the man of my wildest & most beautiful dreams. After celebrating with friends and family, we wanted to let a few more friends (you guys) know… this happened?”

Brittany said she was “still pinching myself and thanking my lucky stars for the truest feeling I’ve ever felt.”

Tyler also posted about the engagement—and that has also been removed. “You are the most beautiful, intelligent, thoughtful, caring, incredible human and I couldn’t be more excited to do life with you,” he said. “Here’s to forever and making our wildest dreams come true. Love you to the moon and back. 🌙💛💛💛.”

February 2020: The couple hosts a joint bachelor party.

Apparently, these two can't get enough of each other because they decided to throw a joint bach/bachelorette party together right before getting hitched, per US Weekly.

“The guys and girls will do separate things one night, and then we’re going to meet up for a joint day of fun,” Tyler said. “I just want to celebrate with my best friend.”

“He’s my Prince Charming come to life, but he’s a surfer," Brittany added.

March 2020: They get married in Malibu.

Right before everything shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Tyler and Brittany tied the knot in Malibu. It rained on their wedding day *cue Alanis Morissette*, and the ceremony was outdoors, Brittany told The Knot.

"It was the location of our dreams,” Brittany said. “We wanted something that felt intimate, warm, beautiful and scenic."

Brittany said that the couple “got a tent as insurance” which was a good thing because “it rained right until the ceremony started.”

“Had we not brought in a tent, which isn't cheap, everyone would've been in the cold rain,” she added.

It looks like the couple kept the music and margaritas flowing the whole time because, TBH, the event looked nothing short of spectacular.

2021: Things seem to be going well for the married couple.

In 2021, Brittany shared a sweet tribute to Tyler on Instagram for his birthday.

How did I get so lucky. I love you like crazy, you perfectly handsome, selfless, dorky, funny, nerd,” she wrote. “You are an actual dream come true & you make me believe in all the good things. I LOVE YOU. Happy bday husband @tylerstanaland.”

Okay, CUTE!

August 2022: Tyler's new show, Selling the OC premieres on Netflix.

Brittany still hasn't spoken publicly about her husband's role on the new reality show, and don't expect to see her on the show. She's been busy gearing up for her directorial debut on her film, September 17th, that's set to come out soon.

"She's supportive," Tyler told ET at the time. "I have what makes the most sense in my career, and she has what makes the most sense in her career, and kind of whatever is best, we do, and we support, and I think that's what makes our relationship successful."

The two weren't posting much with each other in recent months. Tyler's latest appearance on Brittany's IG goes back to October of 2021, and his most recent post with her in it goes back to September of 2021.

And even though they were posting each other less often, Brittany was sure to leave sweet comments on her hubby's Instagrams, and especially the ones featuring with their shared pup, Charlie, in them. "Best dad 😍," she commented on one pic from April.

September 2022: Tyler and Brittany announce their separation.

Apparently, Tyler's involvement on Selling the OC (and the fact that one of his cast members tried to kiss him...twice!) made things pretty rocky for the couple, and they announced their separation on September 14 after two years of marriage. The two made the announcement in joint Instagram posts.

"After time and consideration, Tyler and I have made the difficult decision to separate," the post reads. "This decision was made with love and mutual respect for one another. We have realized we need to take some time and make sure we are each living our most fulfilling and authentic lives."

It continues: "We started this journey as best friends and our relationship will continue to be a priority not only for us but for our dog Charlie. We sincerely appreciate your support and ask for privacy as we navigate this new chapter."

Prior to their big announcement, a source told People that Tyler’s involvement with the show “broke them,” adding, “they had issues before, but this is the final straw.”

Another source went so far as to say, “they’re fully over,” and that “all of the girls [on the show] are obsessed with him,” People reported. “He's been trying to be really respectful but it's taken a toll on his marriage 100 percent."

January 2023: Brittany files for divorce.

Four months after announcing their separation, Brittany took the next step and got some paperwork filed.

In an interview with Bustle, Brittany explained that she had a strong support network during a very difficult time. "In the past year I went through probably the hardest mental health challenge I’ve ever faced. In one day, in a matter of hours, my life turned completely upside down," she told Bustle. "I was blindsided and everything I thought I knew, held sacred and truly trusted in my life was completely different."

She added that one of her Pitch Perfect costars "basically nursed me back to health for like four days." Bellas forever!

May 2023: Brittany opens up about the divorce.

Clearly, it hasn't been smooth sailing, but Brittany has some tactics for making it through.

“I think everybody goes through really tough periods and then it's all in our perspective and how we deal with it, right?” the star told People. “Because nobody's immune to tough periods in their life. And, all I'm trying to do is focus on myself and tune out the noise.”

Stay tuned for more updates.
