Two teens charged with murder in double homicide at Graham Village Apartments

Two teenagers have been charged with first-degree murder in connection with a double homicide at the Graham Village Apartments in August.

According to information provided by the Graham Police Department, a 17-year-old male and a 14-year-old male were arrested on Tuesday and charged with two counts of felony first-degree murder. Their names are not being released due to the fact they are juveniles. Both are being held at local juvenile detention facilities.

At approximately 1 a.m. on Aug. 25, law enforcement responded to the Graham Village Apartments on E. Hanover Road for a report of gunshots fired in the parking lot. Upon arrival officers located an 18-year-old male with an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Initial information at that time did not indicate that there were any other victims.

Later that day at approximately 9:45 am investigators with Burlington Police Department reached out to detectives at Graham Police about a missing persons investigation. They stated there was reason to believe that their case was related to the shooting incident from earlier that morning.

Graham detectives responded again to Graham Village Apartments to canvass the area.

At approximately 11 a.m. officers located the bodies of two 16-year-old males in the wooded area behind the apartment complex, who were apparently victims of gunshot wounds, according to law enforcement.

Graham officers were assisted at the scene by officers from Burlington Police Department, deputies from Alamance County Sheriff's Office, agents with NC SBI, the medical examiner's office as well as representatives of the Alamance County District Attorney's Office.
