The retailer, which previously used unaltered images in a 2017 swimwear campaign, has seen a surge of positive responses on Twitter for an image from its 2018 swimwear line. As pointed out by Pop Sugar, the picture features plus-size model Vivian Eyo-Ephraim looking stunning in a yellow bikini. Many feel the decision to cast Vivian is an important step towards increased representation in fashion.
Social media has been rapidly sharing Vivian's photo, highlighting their appreciation for the show of "some REAL diversity". "This is the first actual plus-sized model I’ve ever seen," one user tweeted. Another follower even felt encouraged, saying: "I think this is the first time I have ever looked at a bikini model and thought "maybe I could wear one too"."
Based on her post to Instagram, Vivian is apparently floored by the reaction, too.
