Taylor Swift dropped Red (Taylor’s Version) last week and the internet absolutely roasted Jake Gyllenhaal thanks to the new 10-minute version of “All Too Well,” which SHED SOME LIGHT on their relationship. Like…just gonna drop these lyrics here real quick: “And I was never good at telling jokes but the punch line goes / I’ll get older but your lovers stay my age.”

Anyway, on top of the extremely telling lyrics ^^^^, Taylor dropped a full-blown music video that stars Sadie Sink and Dylan O’Brien as pretty obvious stand-ins for Taylor and Jake (Dylan even wore Jake’s signature jacket at one point), and now everyone is wondering what she has up her sleeve for the release of Speak Now (Taylor’s Version). Which, yes, features “Dear John,” her song largely believed to be about John Mayer.

And by “everyone is now wondering,” I mean that Twitter is anticipating the inevitable roasting John has coming his way:

Lols.

Anyway, in case you need a reminder, Taylor and John dated from December 2009 to February 2010, and he was (how do I say this politely…) a huge baby about “Dear John.” As in, he complained about the song at length to Rolling Stone, saying, “I never got an email. I never got a phone call. I was really caught off guard, and it really humiliated me at a time when I’d already been dressed down. I mean, how would you feel if, at the lowest you’ve ever been, someone kicked you even lower?…I will say as a songwriter that I think it’s kind of cheap songwriting. I know she’s the biggest thing in the world, and I’m not trying to sink anybody’s ship, but I think it’s abusing your talent to rub your hands together and go, ‘Wait till he gets a load of this!’ That’s bullshit.”

Um…nope! Pretty sure Taylor is allowed to write about whatever she wants from her own life, including the end of her relationships!
