Twitter Mocks Trump's New MAGA Christmas Cap: 'Nothing Says Populism Like a $45 Baseball Hat'
President Donald Trump is trying to “make Christmas great again” with a new $45 holiday-themed baseball cap — but Twitter is having none of it.
The hat — which costs almost double the price of a standard $25 Make America Great Again cap — was promoted on the official GOP Twitter account over the weekend to harsh criticism.
Many slammed the president for commercializing a religious holiday and for making himself, rather than Christmas, the focus of the hat.
“Interesting how Trump’s slogan is the most prominent part of the hat,” tweeted one critic. “It’s not Merry Christmas on the front and Make America Great Again on the back. Guess it’s only a War on Christmas if he says it is.”

Trump 2020 campaign has a new hat for sale. Costs nearly twice as much as regular MAGA hats. But it lets everyone know you’re a soldier in the War on Christmas. pic.twitter.com/MQbK2VQlki

45 doesn’t seem to understand that Christmas is actually a religious holiday. True to form he commercializes it. His Pricey New Christmas Hat (MCGA) Gets Exactly The Reception You’d Expect. Total fail! #TrumpIsAMoron https://t.co/h6xPpci47W

Not certain how an overpriced hat made in China is going to make Christmas great again - particularly since I never thought it was so bad to begin with. The tweets say it all. #noneedtomakechristmasgreatagain https://t.co/A5YdtzcqCk

The holiday hat, currently on sale at President Trump’s campaign store, has the words “Merry Christmas” stitched onto the back. Trump has repeatedly railed against department stores and other businesses that have embraced the phrase “happy holidays” as a secular season greeting, bemoaning that people no longer say “Merry Christmas” “because it’s not politically correct.”
Trump promised on the campaign trail that if “I get elected president, we’re going to be saying Merry Christmas again.”
