Pink has finally forgiven Jon Bon Jovi for breaking her heart many years ago.

During Sunday night’s 2021 Billboard Music Awards, the 41-year-old mother of two accepted the Icon Award for her outstanding musical career, topping the charts with hits like “Raise Your Glass” and “Just Give Me a Reason.” Presenting this year’s coveted award to her was Grammy-winning rock legend Jon Bon Jovi, who isn’t just Pink’s longtime friend but also her childhood crush.

Before welcoming Pink on stage, the 59-year-old artist shared the story of when he first met Pink when she was only 22. He then recalled hearing about her reaction to him secretly marrying his high school sweetheart, Dorothea Hurley, in 1989.

“She told me she had a crush on me when she was just [eight] years old, and that when she heard that I'd been married, broke her heart,” he said. “Well, I felt bad and tried to make up for it by sending her a life-size flower arrangement and a pair of my leather pants with a note that said, 'Now you can finally get in my pants.’”

Today, the two have become “real friends.” So much so that Pink wasn’t afraid to be even more honest with Jon when she got up on stage to accept her award. The edgy pop singer elaborated on how badly she took the news back then.

"Okay, so I have to tell you, I think you might already know this, but I did not come out of my room for a week when you married Dorothea,” she explained. “I ripped your poster off my wall, and I replaced you with Sebastian Bach. I'm very glad that you found lasting love Jon, but you broke my heart. I take this as an apology. I accept."
