With cancel culture in full swing, Adam Sandler is the latest celebrity garnering outrage online after a Twitter thread called out the actor for being "a Trump supporter and donor." The tweets point to a website showing various donations "Adam Sandler" has made to the president over the past few years.

People were quick to jump all over the Murder Mystery actor.

There's just one problem. The Adam Sandler everyone is thinking of didn't make any of those donations, his publicist tells Yahoo Entertainment. Moreover, "Adam does not or has ever lived in Ashland," per his rep. (Some speculated he had a home in Oregon where said contributor is listed from after a false internet search corroborated the theory.)

There could be an Adam Sandler that did make those donations though, as one Twitter user pointed out. There is a street performer with the same name who hails from Ashland.

As for whether Sandler — the comedian — privately supports Trump as some speculated, that is unknown. A source close to the actor isn't sure of his political preferences. Publicly, the former Saturday Night Live star typically shies away from talking politics in the press. But he had no problem taking aim at POTUS during his return to SNL in March, resurrecting Opera Man to deliver some jabs.

“Trumpa dumpa. Trumpa dumpa. I play-a the golf. And they take-a the fall ... I get to make-a The Wall. And Putin make me his beetch,” he crooned.

Equinox and SoulCycle were probably grateful for the brief online reprieve.
