Twinkies’ New Mixed Berry Flavor Is Stuffed With Strawberry, Blueberry, And Raspberry Creme
Hostess’ Twinkies certainly knows how to put out a festive flavor for the season. There’s Pumpkin Spice for fall, Mint Chocolate for Christmas, and Strawberry for Valentine’s Day. Granted, we don’t know what Mixed Berry coming out in the middle of September has to do with the season, but it sure does sound good.
Unlike the Strawberry flavor, which just has that one fruit, the Twinkies Mixed Berry consists of a variety. You can expect a golden sponge cake with mixed berry creamy filling that’s made with strawberry, blueberry, and raspberry, as indicated on the packaging. Plus, the creme is made with real fruit, so we’re hoping for a lot of fresh flavor.
The box of 10 individually wrapped cakes have just begun rolling out on shelves this month, so keep an eye on the snack aisle. The mixed berry-flavored Twinkies have been spotted at Walmart and Dollar General, so it doesn’t look like we’ll have to worry about them being store-exclusive.
People already have opinions on the new variety and, like the flavor, they’re mixed. “This doesn’t seem to be a flavor that would launch right now. I would still eat it though,” one commenter wrote. “I don’t know about one…. Could be either great or disgusting,” wrote another.
