TVA celebrates National Trail Day on June 1

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The American Hiking Society is hosting National Trails Day Saturday, June 1, across America.

Tennessee Valley Authority has trails all over the southeast covering over 180 miles. TVA and partners are hosting events all month to celebrate. The event on Saturday will be at Racoon Mountain in Chattanooga where bike trail maintenance will be happening.

Suzanne Fisher, Senior Programmer of Natural Resources for TVA, says there are three trails across the mid-state. Normandy is the closest to Murfreesboro. Tims Ford has areas with trails, areas for camping, and gravel roads leading to observation areas. Lady’s Bluff trail is closer to Paris and New Johnsonville but has a beautiful outlook of Kentucky Lake.
