TV Ratings: ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Closes on Low Note

The Season 25 finale of “Dancing with the Stars” failed to provide any lift to ABC on Tuesday night, according to Nielsen overnight data.

Airing from 9-11 p.m., “Dancing with the Stars” averaged a 1.3 rating in adults 18-49 and 9.2 million viewers. That is down slightly in both measures from both the episode that aired this Monday (1.4, 10.1 million) and the Monday last week (1.4, 9.9 million). It is also down in the demo compared to the spring finale this year (1.4, 8.9 million) and in both measures from last year’s fall finale (1.8, 11 million).

Earlier on ABC, “The Middle” (1.3, 6 million) was even, while “Fresh Off the Boat” (1.1, 4.3 million) was up slightly in total viewers.

On NBC, “The Voice” (1.7, 9.3 million) was up significantly in both measures. “This Is Us” (2.5, 9.3 million) was even. The Season 3 premiere of “Chicago Med” (1.3, 6.2 million) was down slightly in total viewers compared to Season 2.

On CBS, “NCIS” (1.4, 12.5 million) was even. “Bull” (1.1, 9 million) was down in total viewers. “NCIS: New Orleans” (0.9, 7.9 million) was down in both measures.

For Fox, “Lethal Weapon” (1.0, 3.9 million), “The Mick” (0.7, 2.2 million), and “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” (0.6, 1.7 million) were all even.

For The CW, “The Flash” (0.8, 2.2 million) was down in both measures, while “Legends of Tomorrow” (0.5, 1.5 million) was even.

NBC won the night in the demo with a 1.8 but finished second in total viewers with 8.3 million. ABC was second in the demo with a 1.3 but third in total viewers with 7.8 million. CBS was third in the demo with a 1.1 but first in total viewers with 9.8 million. Fox was fourth overall with a 0.8 and 2.9 million viewers. The CW averaged a 0.6 and 1.8 million viewers.
