Have you ever dreamed of strolling the grounds of Downton Abbey while gazing lovingly into the eyes of Matthew Crawley? Well, now you can!
The PBS drama Downton Abbey is filmed at Highclere Castle, and thanks to a recent remodel, you can now sleep on the grounds of the famous estate at the newly restored London Lodge.

The Countess of Carnarvon oversees the property, which has been in her family for centuries. The lodge is actually one of two buildings located north of the grand estate, and your stay will undoubtedly feel like something out of a period drama.
The living area has a fireplace, perfect for unwinding over a cup of tea. The kitchen has a stove, refrigerator, and kettle, while the bedroom is the idyllic setting you would expect from a British country home.
But getting the lodge up to code was not without some bumps in the road. “If I had a budget I’ve exceeded it tenfold. This was surprisingly dangerous to our pockets,” the countess told the LA Times.

A night at Downton Abby will cost $550 a night. Stays will be available beginning on Valentines Day and select weekends.
The London Lodge is close enough to towns like Newbury, but the countess hopes that visitors will also enjoy the beauty of the park-like grounds. “Whenever I drive in the park gates — it doesn’t matter how long I’ve been here — I always feel I am going into a world apart,” the countess said. “Something has dropped away from me. It is a different world.”
