Trying to Look Like a French Girl Is Still a Thing

Congratulations, French kids… you’re still too cool.

Paris-born Lily-Rose Depp has emerged as this year’s new It Girl, while Balmain’s Olivier Rousteing—a Bordeaux native— is the toast of tout les Kardashians. French blogger Garance Doré just released her first book, and French pop princess Christene and the Queens is gearing up for her debut American tour.

Now Vanessa Seward—another Paris resident—opens her first American store, a pop-up shop at A.P.C. in New York City. Open from October 24 to December 8, the boutique will sell Seward’s new eponymous line, beloved by femmes like Jennifer Lopez, Nicole Kidman, and Lena Dunham. (Don’t worry, Paris purists—Lou Doillon and Charlotte Gainsbourg have worn it, too.)

If you can’t zoom to Manhattan before the temporary store says au revoir, don’t stress. You can also score pieces from the collection on Net-a-Porter, Seward’s website, and various retail hangouts surrounding the Eiffel Tower.
