When I recently wrote about Amazon's bestselling $11 leggings that are selling like crazy, I basically convinced myself to buy them.

The Leggings Depot leggings leggings claim to be super soft, high-waisted, and opaque - at a crazy-low price point. If that's not enough, the leggings have over 11,000 reviews, with more than 7,000 five-star ratings. After trying them out for about two weeks, here are my thoughts on the $11 leggings that promise "buttery soft comfort."

"Our perfect brushed polyester spandex blend provides buttery soft comfort."

The truth: These leggings are definitely the comfiest leggings I've ever slipped into. And as a girl who dresses for comfort, I have quite a collection of leggings! These ones aren't restricting and leave plenty of room to breathe. While they're not leg warmers, they're thick enough to prevent my knees from shaking.

"Our leggings can be worn on any occasion."

The truth: These are the perfect athleisure leggings. They've pretty much become my go-to bottoms when I want to wear something easy and cozy: I wear them to work by pairing them with a large sweater and a tall pair of boots. I've gone grocery shopping in them. I've walked many blocks in NYC in them. I even work out in them.

That said, though they were perfect for a light run, stretching, and Zumba, I'm not sure how they would do in intense, sweaty workout sessions. I think you could get away with sweat seeping through the black pair, but lighter colors might not be the best choice.

"'One-size' fits sizes 2-12."

The truth: The leggings come in four sizes that promise to span from S-5X. Several reviewers say they adore how the leggings hug their curves.

However, I'm normally a size 2 in pants, so I opted for the one-size option (which is supposed to fit sizes 2-12) and the leggings are a little big. Though they they've never slipped, they fit more like joggers: They don't cling tight to my body and bunch by my ankles since I'm short - just something to note if you're on the petite side!

My friend, who just gave birth to twin baby girls, ordered a pair for herself as well. For her, the leggings fit like a glove, but she says she wishes the leggings had more hold: "I'd like to have a control top to tighten the belly because I still have some belly jiggle there."

"Fabric stretches in all directions while remaining opaque!"

The truth: Again, this is where color choice matters. For the black pair, no one will catch that you're wearing bright pink underwear underneath - I checked!

When it comes to checking opacity correctly, experts advise to check in good, natural lighting before you head out the door. "Try to bend over in front of a mirror, but if you can't, bend your knee deeply to see if you can see the skin through it," says Lexie Sachs, Associate Director of the Textile Lab at the Good Housekeeping Institute. Good to keep this in mind if you opt for the yellow or light gray.

So ... are these bestselling leggings worth the hype?

I won't tell you they're the greatest leggings in the world, but, they are the softest, the most comfortable, and my personal proudest purchase when it comes to activewear! Plus, they're super easy to take care of: while some leggings require hand-washing or special care, I've thrown them in the washing machine and dryer on normal settings multiple times, and they look exactly the same as when I received them in the mail. Just $11 for easy-care leggings I'll wear at least once or twice a week? Totally worth it.
