Trump's military record mocked with G.I. Joe 'Cadet Bonespurs'

The Late Show With Stephen Colbert mocked Donald Trump’s military record with a fake G.I. Joe toy named “Cadet Bonespurs.” The toy was inspired by U.S. military veteran and Sen. Tammy Duckworth’s response to Donald Trump in the wake of a speech he gave on Monday.

Trump was upset that Democrats did not clap during his State of the Union address. In fact, Trump even said it was a treasonous act, which he labeled as a joke. Sen. Duckworth didn’t find the joke amusing and tweeted, “I swore an oath — in the military and in the Senate — to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, not to mindlessly cater to the whims of Cadet Bone Spurs and clap when he demands I clap.”

In support of Duckworth, The Late Show fashioned a Trump doll head onto a G.I. Joe body. It created a fake commercial to mock the president, who received five draft deferments during the Vietnam War — including one for alleged bone spurs in his heels.

The commercial’s announcer described the toy saying, “He’d loved to charge bravely into battle. It’s just that he has this thing with his heel which causes occasional minor foot pain.”

The announcer went on to claim, “It will be the greatest fun you ever had playing soldier, or in his case, avoiding playing soldier to date models.”

This is not a real toy, but after watching the fake commercial, maybe it should be?
