Tristan Thompson Maybe Told Khloé He Was "Set Up"

As the final days of her pregnancy played out this week, Khloé Kardashian no doubt hoped to finalizing the birth plan with her boyfriend Tristan Thompson, finalizing the coverage plan with mama Kris, getting reassurance that everything would be fine (it was! Khloé gave birth today!) and, you know, just being all sorts of loved up and emotional. Instead, or at least as well as, she and Thompson will have likely had to have been having some #realtalk about the stories that brokeearlier this week confirming that he'd been cheating on her while she was pregnant - multiple times.

And according to a "Kardashian family source," People magazine has details on how Thompson might have tried to talk his way out of that deep, deep hole he'd motorboated dug himself into. He told her he was set up, apparently! Can you even believe it!? At least go with the evil twin excuse, really.

"Everyone wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt," the source told People - hoping that Thompson had been targeted in a sting operation, basically: "Khloé and frankly everyone else wanted to believe that... the girl in the club totally threw herself at him, made sure it was caught on tape, tipped off [photographers] to catch her going into the hotel" etc. etc. This is specific to the first set of photos and video showing his hook-up in New York this past weekend of course, because good luck explaining away that video TMZ sourced from the hookah lounge in D.C.

And that is the line Thompson stuck to when explaining away the first set of allegations. "I think [that's] what Tristan has been telling her: ‘Babe, you know how groupies are,'" the source continued, "'you know how they try to hang on me and follow me around and this isn’t what it looks like.'"

Except then of course the second story chronicling more cheating broke, and it turned out that it was what it looked like! (For those in the back, that's cheating.)

And while People is reporting on the one hand that Khloé plans to move back to Calabalas basically ASAP (she had previously intended to raise her and Thompson's baby girl together in Cleveland), she might not break up with Thompson entirely: "She’s a hopeless romantic and she’ll try to make this work," that good ol' family source noted, presumably with a resigned sigh. All the best with that, Khloé.
