Trisha Yearwood’s music—particularly, her voice—is known for pulling at the heartstrings. And her new music video for “I’ll Carry You Home” falls right in line. In it, Yearwood sings while a compilation of childhood home videos are projected on a sheet behind her—a celebration of friends and family who have supported her upbringing and career.

“‘I’ll Carry You Home’ is almost like a prayer,” Yearwood said in a statement, per Country Daily. “For me, it’s very much about the people in my life that have my back, and also my strong spiritual belief that God’s got me, no matter what. I believe that. It’s really like a prayer. It’s just one of the most beautiful songs that I’ve heard.”

Yearwood performed the song, which is off of her 2019 album Every Girl, live for the first time at the 2020 ACM Awards in honor of the lives lost in country music this year.

Most of the video’s family clips were filmed in Georgia, where Yearwood was raised. “What I see when I look at this footage is just love, generations of love,” the singer wrote on Instagram. “These memories are still so fresh in mind. All of these people I see in the video, who have gone before, they are still with me. They’ll carry me home.”

The release has already deeply touched many. “I can’t watch it! It makes me sob! Such a beautiful song....a true tribute to family and love. 💕” one fan commented on Instagram. “This brings back my own memories,” another added. “So beautiful. I’ve lost both of my parents since May of this year,” another wrote. “This both broke and helped to heal my heart.”

Thankfully for Yearwood fans, the “I’ll Carry You Home” video may not be the only new release from her this year. She and husband Garth Brooks recently revealed that they recorded a studio version of “Shallow” from A Star is Born. After the pair sang it during a Facebook Live concert (which crashed due to the influx of viewers), people went wild for it, so it may be included in Brooks’ upcoming album, FUN.
