If you're going to take a trip, make sure to soak up all the new experiences possible—and that includes choosing not only a unique destination but lodging. Sure, you can roll your new Open Story luggage into a fancy hotel, but you've probably already lived out the hotel experience. Why not try something new, like staying a few nights in a treehouse?

Treehouses have evolved from backyard play structures for kids into charming rentals. In fact there are numerous lofty escapes you can stay in within the trees—we've listed our 31 favorite treehouses here. There's another one that's been on our radar recently, though. While it might not be ideal for a romantic getaway, it's definitely an exciting place to stay for spring break. The Redwood Tree Haus on Cloud Lane in New Braunfels, Texas, listed on Airbnb, will bring back memories of your childhood treehouse, except you definitely didn’t have a large pool with a swim-up bar growing up.

Book a night here (or rather two nights, as that's the minimum) and you'll never run out of things to do: The grounds boast a salt water swimming pool with a bar, a cabana, a mini children's playground, and a hot tub. While there are three other treehouses that you'll have to share the pool with, worry not, as there is plenty of space for everybody. In fact, the swim-up bar includes 17 bar stools so you and your pals can really get the full pool bar experience, as well as have the opportunity to socialize. When you get hungry, you can make use of the grilling area available to you. Plus, the treehouse is located up the hill from the The Guadalupe River at Lake Dunlap, where you'll have access to a large 60ft dock to fish or just cannonball off of.

Inside the treehouse is the real treat, though. You'll feel like you've stepped into a fairytale, as the space makes guests feel like they crawled into a secret magical passage within the tree's trunk. In the kitchen, lies a giant tree to which the TV hangs on one side, while the fridge and microwave live in the nooks of the trunk on the other side. The whimsical two bedroom, one bathroom home also has two twin beds and a fold out sofa in the living room to accomodate all guests—which according to the listing, is up to eight. Right now, prices per night are going for about £426, which equals about $555.06. Divide that up among eight friends and you'll be paying a little under $70 per night per person. Not too shabby, if you ask us.
