  • Rapper Travis Scott, famously a Houston Astros fan, wanted to celebrate the team's 2022 World Series victory.

  • The "Sicko Mode" artist hooked the team up with pairs of his most recent Air Jordan sneaker.

  • Scott has collaborated with Air Jordan since 2017 to produce massively popular sneakers that go for high prices on the secondary market.

Travis Scott has a history of collaborations, and that extends outside of albums like Huncho Jack, Jack Huncho. The "Sicko Mode" rapper has teamed with a number of businesses over the years to create branded products, be it his own burger at McDonalds or his own in-game concert in Fortnite.

But his most fruitful collaboration with a company is Nike, and specifically the Jordan brand. Starting with 2017's Travis Scott x Nike Air Force 1 Low, the rapper's collab with the famous shoe brand led to some of the most sought-after sneakers in the world, rich with unique designs and elaborate stunts (lest we forget when, in 2019, they dropped the Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1s on SNKRS during the Grammys).

However, Sports Illustrated suggests that Scott's latest shoe collab with Jordan may be his last. And if so, his latest stunt is a fitting way to showcase his signature kicks while kicking something back to the community he loves.

That Scott is a huge fan of the Houston Astros isn't a secret: his biggest album, ASTROWORLD, is named for the defunct theme park created by Houston Astros owner Judge Roy Hofheinz to compliment the Astrodome (despite this, nowhere on the album's 17 tracks is there mention of AstroWorld's mascot Marvel McFey, which is a major oversight).

On Sunday, Scott decided to celebrate his beloved Astros' 2022 World Series victory by setting the entire team up, including coaches, with his most recent collab, the Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Low 'Olive' colorway. First released on April 26, 2023 for $150, and regularly reselling for over $700, this victory gift from the rapper to the team is surely a ... home run. (Sorry, we had to.)
