As travelers hit the road and sky in record numbers this holiday season, the organization gurus of Netflix's "Get Organized with The Home Edit" share what's inside their fully stocked medical kits.

"The more you can anticipate things you might need, the easier your life is," Clea Shearer told Travel + Leisure when talking about traveling with medical supplies. "You don’t want to be in a hotel and scramble to find things that you need."

Shearer, along with co-founder and co-star Joanna Teplin, have partnered with medical company Abbott — the parent company of BinaxNOW at-home COVID-19 tests — in effort to spread awareness of cold and flu season, which also happens to overlap with one of the most popular travel times of the year.

In addition to traveling with at-home COVID-19 tests, the two both shared that hand sanitizer, cough drops, allergy medications, Band-Aids, Advil, and Pepto Bismol are among the other health items that make it into their to-go medical kits.

"Traveling in itself is stressful whether it's for work or for fun, things always come up," Shearer explained. "Now more than ever health is such a top priority, so the more prepared you can be takes such a weight off."

Speaking specifically about COVID-19 and how the virus' symptoms can be similar to those of the common cold or flu, the two both agreed that at-home tests are one of the most important items to pack when seeing family this holiday season.

"Especially [if you're] going to see older relatives and your child is sniffling — do they have allergies or do they have COVID?" Shearer suggested. "At least we can solve that one right now."

In a similar situation, Teplin recalled having a COVID-19 test delivered to her hotel room via Postmates during a family trip when her daughter had a sore throat.

"I think at the moment we’re coexisting with COVID," she added. "Traveling with tests on hand makes everything so much easier, it's peace of mind."
