Welcome to FC Yahoo‘s daily transfer roundup, where we’ll dissect the January market, assess the credibility of gossip, and discuss the likelihood that deals come to pass. Every day, we’ll split the various links between players and clubs into four categories to sift through the BS and direct your attention to the reports that deserve it.

Here’s the transfer roundup for Friday, January 26:

FRIDAY’S DONE DEALS

Joao Mario | Inter Milan —> West Ham United — The 2016 European champion has sealed a loan move to East London. Still just 25, Mario failed to impress under admittedly chaotic circumstances at Inter, but his creative flair is something West Ham manager David Moyes has touted, and the Hammers will likely need him as they sit just four points above the drop zone.

REPORTS

Lucas Moura | Paris Saint-Germain —> Tottenham HotspurReports out of France say the wantaway Brazilian winger has agreed to a four-year contract with Spurs in the neighborhood of $35 million. He’ll help vary Tottenham’s attack, and the club reportedly warded off the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool for his signature.

CHATTER

Benitez won’t sell Serbian striker to a Premier League club — Aleksandar Mitrovic can go anywhere he wants. Just not to another club in England’s top flight, according to Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez. A move could hinge on Benitez’s pursuit of Feyenoord’s Nicolai Jorgensen, who wants to join the Tyneside club but whose fee also might be too high for Newcastle to pay.

RUMORS

Real Madrid is rich — We know, huge newsflash there. But Marca still reported club president Florentino Perez is preparing to spend 300 million euros this summer. So it could be an eventful summer in the Spanish capital.

West Ham has its hands in everything — If the London club doesn’t sign Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge, it could turn its attention toward Watford’s Troy Deeney. Or so the rumors go. Grab that grain of salt as fast as possible.

Chelsea circling as Olivier Giroud saga drags on — As Arsenal tries to work out a deal for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang before the window closes, the French striker appears to be part of the package heading to Borussia Dortmund in exchange. Manager Arsene Wenger has shot that notion down, but the rival Blues are still keen on monitoring the situation and potentially bolstering their own strike corps.

Chelsea also in pursuit of Edin Dzeko — Speaking of the reigning Premier League champions, they’re also reportedly in the hunt for the Roma striker, who is on the wrong side of 30 but also a two-time English champion with Manchester City. In any event, Chelsea’s interest in signing a striker this window seems very real.
