This Townhouse Redesign Just Won a Wayfair Tastemaker Award

Get ready for some major inspo, because Wayfair just announced the winners of its 6th annual Wayfair Professional Tastemaker Awards—which recognizes excellence and innovation in both commercial and residential design. From a sushi restaurant crafted with traditional Japanese materials to a collected outdoor dining patio, the projects feature smart design that’s creative and, of course, beautiful.
Many submissions were received for the contest, and only one winner was selected across six categories. The winners were chosen based on the quality, creativity, and ingenuity of their projects by three judges: House Beautiful's Hadley Keller, Custom Builder Magazine’s Nigel Maynard, and interior designer Galey Alix Gravenstein.
The awards for Best Use of Outdoor Space and Most Cohesive Design with Social Distancing—two new categories introduced this year—were given to Wills Design Associates for an outdoor patio and library-turned-restaurant The Silver Fork, respectively. The other winners include AC Design Studio for Best Residential Design of a New York City brownstone; The Luxe Design Group for Most Dramatic Renovation of a Texas home; Munrosica Interiors for Most Effective Use of Color in a coastal-inspired home; and House of Form for Best Commercial Business Design of Phoenix-based restaurant Nori Sushi.
“The 2021 Wayfair Professional Tastemaker Award winners are a particularly resilient group of designers and business owners who delivered world-class projects across various industries while managing the uncertainties of last year,” Margaret Lawrence, vice president of Wayfair Professional, said in a press release. “We are thrilled with the judge’s selections for this year’s winners and are proud to introduce their projects as the very best of what Wayfair Professional members can accomplish across residential and commercial spaces.”
