Maple Leafs recall goaltender Hutchinson, loan Kaskisuo to AHL

The Toronto Maple Leafs announced on Monday that they have recalled goaltender Michael Hutchinson from the AHL.

In three games for the Toronto Marlies, Hutchinson posted a .942 save percentage and a 1.95 goals-against average.
The Leafs waived the 29-year-old netminder on Nov. 11 and sent him down once he cleared the following day. His replacement for the backup role, Kasimir Kaskisuo, will be returning to the AHL, where he started his season.
The carousel of depth goaltenders continue.
Kaskisuo made one appearance for the Leafs, stopping 32 of 38 shots against the Pittsburgh Penguins in an abysmal effort defensively by the team when it was still being coached by Mike Babcock.
Toronto has an upcoming back-to-back — Friday against the Buffalo Sabres and Saturday against the Philadelphia Flyers — which is most likely the reason for the timing of this move.
In six appearances this season for the Leafs, Hutchinson has a 0-4-1 record, a .879 save percentage and a 4.44 goals-against average.
