In case you missed it, Amazon Prime Day kicked off earlier today. Amazon's two-day shopping holiday has historically been one of the best times of the year to find major discounts on vacuums, and this year's deals are no exception.
According to Jessica Teich, deputy editor at the Good Housekeeping Institute, Prime Day 2022 has savings on upright vacuums, stick vacuums, robot vacuums, and vacuums for pet hair from the industry's biggest brands (think: Bissel, Shark, Dyson, and iRobot). Is Prime Day a good time to buy a vacuum?
"Yes, Prime Day is a great time to buy a vacuum!" says Jessica Teich, deputy editor at the Good Housekeeping Institute. "We've seen giant savings on upright and stick vacuums from Bissell, Shark, and even Dyson, plus great deals on robot vacuums from Eufy, Roborock, and iRobot Roombas during Prime Day with savings over 40% off in 2021 and over 50% in 2020."

Amazon Prime Day is a sales event that started in 2015 to commemorate Amazon's 20th anniversary. Since then, the event has reliably been Amazon's biggest sale of the year, with major discounts across all product categories.
When is Amazon Prime Day 2022?
Prime Day will take place July 12 and 13 in 2022, according to an Amazon press release, which also revealed Prime Day will be extended to 20 countries this year and will feature more small- and mid-sized businesses than ever.
What does Amazon Prime cost in 2022?
Prime Day discounts are only shoppable for Amazon Prime subscribers. An Amazon Prime membership costs $14.99 per month or $139 per year (there are some discounts for students, seniors, and other qualifying individuals). If you have never had an Amazon Prime membership, Amazon offers a 30-day free trial for first-time subscribers.
What are the best Prime Day deals 2022?
On Amazon Prime Day in 2021, there were over two million deals across every category, including home, tech, fashion, appliances, furniture, beauty, and travel. We expect many of the same and more deals will be available this year.
Teich says that the best deals tend to be in the tech and appliance categories. "Last year's sales showed steep savings on Apple products, including 20% off AirPods and $80 off Apple Watches; kitchen appliances, including Instant Pots and over 30% off air fryers; and cleaning appliances, including 20% off select Bissell products and 43% off Eufy robot vacuums," she said.
