With gyms officially open and the weather (hopefully) improving, some of us have jumped into a new fitness regime with a vengeance.

And if you're someone for whom improving your fitness and overall health is a serious undertaking, a fitness tracker could help you to keep track of your progress.

Fitness trackers have developed rapidly in recent years, far from simple pedometers, they now focus on heart rate monitoring, sports tracking, sleep statistics and can even help you feel less stressed during the day.

If you don’t want to invest in a pricey gadget just yet, we’ve found an affordable yet highly-rated device that won’t break the bank.

The Teminice fitness tracker on Amazon comes with GPS and heart rate tracking built-in.

It also monitors your heart rate during exercise and your resting heart rate, for a holistic picture of your heart health.

And, best of all? It’s currently on sale, down from £29.99 to £23.79.

Why we love it:

This watch has a bigger screen than many other fitness trackers, so is easy to keep an eye on during a run or exercise.

It also comes in four colours, is loaded with features and has a highly responsive touchscreen.

Not to mention, it's currently Amazon's number one best-selling activity tracker.

How it works:

Although it looks much like many other standard slimline fitness bands, the way you charge this tracker is a bit different. After easing off the straps, you place the end with the chip into a USB interface, meaning there are no trailing cables to worry about.

A single button on the watch face takes you through its screens. Meanwhile, the VeryFitPro app is very quick to download and easy to navigate.

You can swipe to view your total steps and current heart rate on the watch face, but for greater analysis, the app delves deeper into all these stats.

The sleeping analysis function lets you see how much of your sleep is deep or light. Plus, being able to stop the watch face illuminating when you move your wrist is handy, especially when you’re trying to nod off.

What the reviews say:

With over 25,000 reviews, this gadget isn't lacking in great customer feedback.

  • “Very easy to use fitness watch, first thing was to connect to your phone’s Bluetooth and then connect it to the app VeryFitPro, which is really easy to use.”

  • “I love that you can see the time when you are out in the sun. I have had a Fitbit and a similar tracker but they are nowhere near as good. This one has a good bracelet that is comfortable, love the colour and it was set up in a few minutes. I tracked the steps with my phone tracker and they were both the same. I have the app on my iPad and phone, and love all the different things you get.”

  • “Was in the market for a fitness tracker and choose this product based on reviews and price and am honestly impressed with this watch."

  • “Love this fitness tracker. Great, affordable and easy to use. Link to an app which you download. Then on the app you can track your sleep pattern with various charts.”

  • “Really useful that it shows other notifications from other social media sites, the strap fits well and still has a few notches left if you have really small wrists, charging is really easy.”
