Tommy Lee Is Sober Now, And Happily Married To A Social Media Star
  • A new series on Hulu titled Pam & Tommy is debuting on February 2.

  • The eight-episode show will explore the whirlwind romance of Baywatch star Pamela Anderson and Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee—plus the release of their stolen sex tape, which dominated pop culture news at the time.

  • The pair divorced in 1998. And Tommy is now happily married to a social media star.

Tommy Lee is known for many things. He is the drummer of Mötley Crüe, frequent mooner of fans, and, not to be overlooked, his chaotic AF Instagram feed.

But the 59-year-old musician is perhaps best known for his whirlwind romance with Baywatch star Pamela Anderson. I mean these two got married four days after they met, were involved in legal trouble, had two kids, and were robbed of their safe—including a homemade sex tape—all within the span of a three-year relationship. They are simply a tabloid goldmine!

So it should come as no surprise that these antics are the latest piece of 1990s culture to make their way back on the screen. Pam & Tommy, a new Hulu miniseries about the couple’s stolen sex tape (and intense love affair) drops on February 2.

The world all knew where Tommy was then, but where is the drummer now?

Pamela and Tommy had a whirlwind romance.

After separating from his second wife Heather Locklear, Tommy met Pam and the two fell hard and fast. After meeting at a New Year’s Eve party in 1994, they tied the knot in Cancún, Mexico just 96 hours later.

“There was Tommy and then there was nobody else,” Pamela told People in 2015. "It really was love at first sight.”

The pair had two children, Brandon Thomas, 25, and Dylan Jagger, 24, and before separating in 1998. Pamela filed for a divorce months after Tommy was arrested for assaulting her and was sentenced to six months in jail, according to Marie Claire.

In 2008, 10 years after their divorce, Tommy announced to Rolling Stone that things were back on. "Pamela and the kids have moved in with me," he told the magazine. "It’s awesome, man. It’s definitely working. You can tell on the kids’ faces—they’re happy when we’re together.” It was short-lived, though. The couple split again in 2010, seemingly for good.

Today, he co-parents his kids with Pamela.

Believe it or not, the drummer is a great co-parent who backs his ex-wife up when it comes to the kids. In a 2015 interview with Howard Stern, Pamela talks about raising her boys with Tommy.

“We make a real effort...we make sure we are united when we talk to our kids,” she said. “Tommy is really really strict, wants them to not be spoiled men and to work hard. I call Tommy, and he emails me all day ‘breathe, be strong.’”

Aw! I love the idea of these two crazy kids raising two other crazy kids. And that’s on growth and maturity!

He now leads a sober lifestyle.

The rockstar told Entertainment Tonight in 2020 that he was sober after years of drinking “gallons of vodka” on the regular. "I feel killer, I feel really good," he said. "I consider myself lucky because some people don't have that sense, or luxury, of sort of looking in the mirror and going, 'OK dude, time to pump the breaks. Like, this is too much.'"

He was candid, saying that he is not sure if he will drink again down the line, but said for the time being he was taking it day by day. “I know I've got work to do.”

He is, however, in great health, according to an interview he did with GQ, also in 2020. “What's crazy is that about three or four months ago I had a full physical… Everything checked out and my doctor looked at the results and goes: ‘Tommy, you are perfectly healthy and physically everything is wonderful.’ And I was like, ‘Seriously? Are you sure that there's not another Tommy Lee here that my papers got mixed up with because that's incredible.’” Self-awareness—you gotta love it!

He's still working on music and released a solo album in 2020.

Tommy dropped his third solo album Andro in 2020, which he describes as a hybrid of sounds in the GQ interview.

"It is a culmination of a bunch of different flavors that I love. There's some super heavy stuff on it that people would typically think from my background. There's also some EDM-sounding stuff on there…There's some funky stuff. I covered a Prince song on there. It's called 'When You Were Mine,' which is mind-blowing." (Side note: that cover is epic. Run, don’t walk, to your nearest streaming service).

He's been happily married since 2019.

Right now Tommy is on marriage number four—to Vine, TikTok, and podcast sensation Brittany Furlan. They live in Calabasas, California with lots of animals.

“We met online, but we knew about each other for years. He used to watch my Vine videos—he was one of my followers, and obviously, I loved his music. I was a Methods of Mayhem fan and Mötley Crüe fan,” Brittany told Fox News. The idea of Tommy Lee using Vine is mind-bogglingly hilarious to me, but I digress.

Tommy was previously married to model Elaine Starchuk from 1984 to 1985. He was previously married to Heather Locklear from 1986 to 1993, and of course Pamela from 1995 to 1998.

He can still rock out.

When GQ asked Tommy if he could still “rock hard for two hours a night” his response was simple. “Blindfolded.”
