The tree tap: a classic freestyle trick known for its understated beauty and surprising difficulty.

And who better to reiterate the sublime nature of the not-so-humble tree tap than freeskiing legend Tom Wallisch?

Watch as Wallisch laces an effortless switch 900 to tree tap in Good Company's 2023 film, Crescendo.

Wallisch, alongside a handful of others, is one of those skiers I grew up watching and idolizing, so it's impressive that he's still crushing it after all these years. His trick selection and style, like that bottle of wine you forgot about in the cellar, only seem to get better with age.

As for Crescendo, it's an incredibly worthwhile watch if you're looking for something to fuel that pre-season skiing stoke. While Wallisch crushes it in the film, his fellow star Colby Stevenson delivers one of the most exciting and well-rounded parts we've seen in years, executing puckering big mountain lines alongside technical backcountry tricks.

It's always good to see legends alongside soon-to-be household names like Stevenson. At this juncture, the past, present, and future of freeskiing look bright.
