I'll be honest here, I barely know what a "Marvel" is, but I do know that a few months back, a ton of people I know were very upset about Spider-Man possibly leaving The Marvel Cinematic Universe. It was all very complicated and I understood about 5 percent of it, but in the end, I guess it all turned out OK because Spider-Man is indeed staying put. And that, apparently, is thanks to Tom Holland and his adorable drunk self.

Tom went on Jimmy Kimmel Live and said that part of the reason why Spider-Man is staying in the MCU is because he got drunk one night (as you do), cried (as you do), and picked up a call from Disney CEO Bob Iger and convinced him to fix it (as you do...?).

Tom said he originally asked for a talk with Bob and said he just wanted to say, "This has been an amazing five years of my life. Thank you for changing my life in the best way and I hope that we can work together in the future," but they hadn't figured out exactly when they were going to talk. Well, apparently, Bob decided to call Tom after he had downed three pints of beer.

"My family and I went to the pub quiz in our local town. We’re doing a quiz and I’m three pints in, haven’t eaten much, and I get a phone call from an unknown number and I have a feeling. I’m like, ‘I think this is Bob Iger...but I’m drunk,'" he told Jimmy.

Tom said went forward with his plan and he told Bob how much being Spider-Man meant to him and that the two agreed they would try to make it work. And Tom admitted that, yes, he wept! And ultimately? Tom said it best: "I saved Spider-Man."

Seriously! The call did help Bob work to keep Spiderman in the MCU, as he previously told Jimmy Kimmel.

“It was clear that he cared so much and actually we care a lot about him. He’s a great Spider-Man. I actually felt for him, and it was clear that the fans wanted this to happen," Bob said: "So after I got off the phone with him I made a couple of phone calls to our team at Disney Studios and then I decided to call the head of Sony and I said, ‘We gotta figure out a way to get this done. For Tom and for the fans.' And we did. That’s how it happened."

I think we've all learned a valuable lesson this day: Always pick up the phone when random numbers call! Especially if you're a movie star! The. End.
