Tom Felton Addressed Emma Watson Romance Rumors Despite Her Being In a Relationship

Emma Watson's love life rarely makes headlines, as the actress has purposely kept her relationships as private as possible. But this week, two stories emerged about the men who adore her: Her Harry Potter co-star Tom Felton spoke to Entertainment Tonight yesterday about romance rumors between them and how yes, to him, they “are something,” while Us Weekly ran a report today from a source about how well things are going between Watson and her California businessman boyfriend of over a year, Leo Robinton.
Watson is not about to get engaged right now, the outlet's source emphasized, but she and Robinton are happy and committed.
Last month, Watson addressed Robinton engagement rumors on Twitter, clarifying that she is not engaged to anyone currently and she would tell her fans if she was. She wrote:
Dear Fans,
Rumours about whether I’m engaged or not, or whether my career is “dormant or not” are ways to create clicks each time they are revealed to be true or untrue. If I have news—I promise I’ll share it with you. In the mean time please assume no news from me just means I’m quietly spending the pandemic the way most people are—failing to make sourdough bread (!), caring for my loved ones and doing my best not to spread a virus that is still affecting so many people. I am sending so much love to you, hoping you’re ok and as well and happy as you can be in these strange times. And again, thank you to everyone working so hard to keep us safe and well.

Us' source also elaborated on how she sees Robinton. The outlet's source said, “Emma is so loved up with Leo and this is the happiest anyone’s seen her in a relationship by a million miles. They’re so connected in every way and spend all their spare time together.”
Watson is as committed to Robinton as she can be, the source added: “Emma is all in and has her heart set on a long-term future, but she doesn’t want to rush an engagement. She was a little annoyed when people started gossiping about an engagement being in the works, but that was really just a privacy thing. Her and Leo’s friends do fully expect them to make things official at some point in the future, but they’re happy with how things are for right now. The main thing for them is having love and trust for one another, and it doesn’t take a ring or piece of paper for Emma to be happy.”
The report comes one day after Entertainment Tonight ran its interview with Felton, who played Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter films. He discussed his connection to Watson, saying he “adores” her. He downplayed any romantic connotations. (Watson told Seventeen in 2011 that she did crush on Felton while making the Harry Potter films: “For the first two movies, I had a huge crush on Tom Felton. He was my first crush. He totally knows. We talked about it—we still laugh about it. We are really good friends now, and that's cool.”)
The outlet's reporter asked Felton if he and Watson were something. He responded, gushingly, “We are something, if that makes any sense. We've been very close for a long time. I adore her. I think she's fantastic. Hopefully she returns the compliment.”
“As far as the romantic side of it, I think that's a Slytherin/Gryffindor thing rather than a Tom and Emma thing,” he continued. “I absolutely think the world of her. I think to be a part of what we've all been a part of, but for her to be the only girl, certainly the youngest one on set, to grow up with what she had to grow up with was incredibly exciting. You're going to get me teary now, but no, I think she's a fantastic influence on the world.”
