Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen Actually Got Married to Each Other Twice

Tom Brady and his Tampa Bay Buccaneers are playing in Super Bowl LV on February 7.
The future hall-of-famer has been married to Gisele Bündchen since 2009.
The couple has two children together, and Brady has a son with actress Bridget Moynahan.
It remains to be seen whether Tom Brady will win his seventh Super Bowl this Sunday. But we already know he's won big in the love department. The Buccaneers quarterback scored a major touchdown when he married his wife, supermodel Gisele Bündchen, more than 10 years ago.
Now, in celebration of this beautiful couple, we're looking back at how their legendary love story all began.
How did Tom and Gisele meet?
Believe it or not, the couple met in 2006 when a mutual friend set them up on a blind date.
In October 2018, Gisele opened up about the first time she met Tom in an interview with Jimmy Fallon. Gisele shared that it was actually her third blind date in a row, but little did she know that it would also be her last. The model said she fell for Tom immediately. “You know, when I saw those kind eyes, I literally fell in love, like, right away,” she said. “I was like, ‘What?’ He was just… you know how sweet he is.”
Speaking of which, Tom wrote the sweetest Instagram post last year looking back at his first date with his wife at the Turks & Frogs Wine Bar in New York City’s West Village.
The Buccaneers star shared an image of his wife in the restaurant making a heart shape with her hands, followed by a snapshot of Gisele with their two children together.
"The first slide is where we met and the second slide is what we’ve become," he wrote. "You have always been the one to hold us up and you love us the way no one else can. And we love you so much in return. Happy Anniversary Love of my Life. 😍😍"
When did they get married?
Gisele and Tom may be superstars but their wedding was anything but flashy.
After a short engagement, the couple got married on February 26, 2009 in a 20-person ceremony at the Santa Monica Catholic Church. "We planned [the wedding] in like 10 days, and it was perfect," Brady told GQ in 2009. "We went back to the house and I barbecued aged New York strips. We had champagne, a cake, some ice cream. It was a great night."
In fact, it was so nice, they decided to do it twice!
In April 2009, the couple said exchanged vows a second time at the model's house in Santa Teresa, Costa Rica, with Gisele wearing a simple white slip dress and bare feet.
“Our wedding took place at sunset on a warm day in early April,” Gisele wrote in her 2018 book Lessons: My Path to a Meaningful Life. "Around forty people gathered in our open living room: Tom’s and my entire extended family — including nieces — and three good friends apiece."
An informal, relaxed reception followed, and Gisele recalls finding Tom for an impromptu dance. "We are still dancing, and growing through the ups and downs of life," she wrote as she looked back on the moment years later. Ah, so romantic!
Do Tom and Gisele have kids together?
Tom and Gisele have two children together. In December 2009, the couple welcomed their son, Benjamin Rein, 11. Their daughter, Vivian Lake, 8, was born three years later in December 2012.
Tom also has a son, John (who goes by Jack), with his former girlfriend Bridget Moynahan.
Tom has said that while he may be an NFL quarterback, to his kids, he’s just Dad. “My kids see me as dad, so then when you’re one-on-one, you’re just doing dad things. And when you have them one-on-one, and then they say these things, and it just makes your week or year or month. There are some really great moments.”
