Valerie Herskowitz started her chocolate business, The Chocolate Spectrum, from her own kitchen. Inspired by her son, who has autism, she wanted to find a way to create opportunities for people with disabilities. When the former speech therapist opened her brick-and-mortar store in Jupiter, Florida, the community response was astounding. 'You have to be willing to just invest your whole mind and spirit into it,' Valerie says. During the coronavirus pandemic, the company has continued shipping nationwide, and has moved training online. 'It's a blessing because I have a tremendous purpose in my life,' Valerie reflects.
