Todd Chrisley Details Alleged Prison Challenges in New Interview

Todd Chrisley on 'Chrisley Knows Best'

Chrisley Knows Best’s Todd Chrisley is speaking out about what he describes as acts of intimidation at the Florida prison where he is currently serving a 12-year sentence.

The reality TV star, who was found guilty alongside his wife on fraud and tax evasion charges in 2022, began serving his sentence at a prison in Pensacola in January 2023. His wife, Julie, is serving her own seven-year prison sentence in Kentucky.

Chrisley has spoken out over the last several months about what his lawyer called “disastrous” prison conditions. In a new interview with NewsNation that aired earlier this week, Chrisley detailed challenges he says he is currently facing—some of which are allegedly a result of his previous interviews.

One of the issues of concern for Chrisley is how the prison has allegedly blocked him from attending church services. Chrisley said the most recent incident occurred after prison officials learned of his NewsNation interview.

“That was their way of trying to intimidate me,” Chrisley said. “I just walked out and said, ‘It ain’t going to change what I am going to say.’”

A Federal Bureau of Prisons spokesperson did not comment on Chrisley’s allegations specifically when reached for comment, according to NewsNation, but said “individuals of all faith grounds” are given “the opportunity to pursue their religious beliefs and practices.”

Chrisley went on to allege that the prison no longer has a medical doctor at the facility because the doctor previously working there “knows that they were falsifying medical records in that office” and “resigned and left.” It became a problem when a fellow prisoner suffered a heart attack and an inmate with a medical background was allegedly called in to assist until an ambulance arrived, according to Chrisley.

In addition to his allegations about prison conditions, Chrisley said he has not been permitted to speak with his wife since he arrived at the facility. He alleged the warden rejected his request to speak with her “within 15 minutes” of receiving it.
