TODAY'S CHARTS: Amazon, Apple 'in talks' with Saudi Arabia; Freeport-McMoran higher on copper surge

Shares of Amazon (AMZN) are getting a boost on reports that the e-commerce giant is in licensing talks with Saudi Arabia to invest in the country. Apple is also in separate talks, according to Reuters, as part of a push to give the kingdom a high-tech look.

Gold and copper are on a tear, so it’s no surprise that Freeport-McMoran (FCX) is marching higher. With copper on a 15-day winning streak, the metal mining company is up 35% in December alone.

Sticking with commodities, Chesapeake Energy (CHK) is on the move. That’s as crude oil hovers around a two-and-a-half year high and natural gas prices surge. But it’s been a tough year for energy companies (XLE). Chesapeake is down over 40% in 2017.

Helios and Matheson (HMNY) shares are spiking up after The New York Times highlighted MoviePass, the movie subscription service in which Helios and Matheson owns a controlling stake, and its surge to 1 million users.

Shares of Nintendo (NTDOY) sank on reports it will delay the release of 64-GB game cards for its Switch console due to technical issues, according to The Wall Street Journal. The current cards can hold as much as 32-GB of data.

JB Hunt Transport Services (JBHT) gave earnings guidance for the current quarter that fell about 22% short of expectations.
