'Today' Fans Say Hoda Kotb Deserves 'Happiness' After Her Heartfelt Dating Life Update

Hoda Kotb is giving a look at her life on the romantic front, and she's letting two special people help her through the process.

During a recent taping of the Today show, the broadcast journalist sat down with Jenna Bush Hager and Savannah Guthrie to give her thoughts on dating since separating from her ex-fiancé Joel Schiffman in January 2022. Over the last few months, Hoda has shared that she's open to the idea of dating again after ending her almost-decade long relationship. She even asked Jenna to set her up on blind dates for a potential partner back in October. Fast forward, five months later, Hoda is revealing the latest about her dating life.

As it turns out, it doesn't seem like the I Really Needed This Today author has gone out with anyone yet. But she still has faith in both Jenna and Savannah's matchmaking abilities. "I actually trust you guys implicitly," she said on the NBC show on March 16. "If you thought somebody was good for me, I would trust you and go out on that date."

Hoda's revelation wasn't the only nugget of information given on the topic. As the conversation flowed, Jenna told her she's not only "working on it," but Savannah has a "long screening application" before letting the Making Space podcast host go on the date. As Savannah joked on the air, "[Jenna] find[s] him, I'll screen him."

Just like her trusted colleagues, Today show fans quickly lent their support to Hoda as she continues her journey to finding love again. They sent her kind messages on Instagram, declaring how she deserves to find everything she's looking for.

"They got your back Hoda," one person wrote, referencing her friendship with Jenna and Savannah. "Hoda deserves Prince Charming! 👑👑👑👑," another added. "I think Hoda is an amazing woman. I hope she finds true love and happiness. ❤️," a different follower said.

Jenna would wholeheartedly agree with this sentiment. As she told Good Housekeeping in November 2022, Hoda will eventually meet the right person: "She is a very, very special human being, so nothing is going to happen overnight," Jenna shared with us. "But something magical will happen, whether I have something to do with it or not. But she deserves the most magnificent person … There’s something out there for her. We just have to give it some time."

As viewers may know, Hoda first shared news of her and Joel's breakup in January 2022, a little over two years after getting engaged in November 2019. While the duo ended their romantic relationship, they still co-parent daughters Haley Joy, 6 and Hope Catherine, 3. What's more, Us Weekly reported the duo came together to support Hope during a stay in the ICU earlier this month.
