At this point everyone knows that wearing sunscreen is important. Pretty much every article with skin care advice or any celeb interview with “one beauty tip” mentions it. But, it can still be hard to figure out which one is right for you. Well, Reese Witherspoon has a sunscreen suggestion, if you want to try to absorb some of her boss energy through her skin care choices.
In a series of Instagram Stories on Thursday, February 27th, Witherspoon shared the items she was taking with her as she set out for a busy day of meetings. There were her sunglasses, the book The Moment of Lift by Melinda Gates, and a box of Thin Mints (“shoutout, Girl Scouts“). Then, she got to her sunscreen of choice: Elizabeth Arden’s Prevage City Smart Broad Spectrum SPF 50 Hydrating Shield.
“This is a really great one because it has a pretty tint to it,” Witherspoon noted as she pulled her sunscreen out of her tote.
The actor works with the brand, which explains her #alwaysarden hashtag and what is probably an endless supply of sunscreen. “It’s so important to wear sunscreen every single day, especially in the car,” Witherspoon added.
Now, as you might expect, this sunscreen ain’t cheap: A 1.7 oz bottle will set you back $68. Still, if you are someone who wants to splurge on a sunscreen, this one might fit what you’re looking for.
Notably, it’s a mineral sunscreen (titanium dioxide and zinc oxide), and the fact that it’s tinted means you avoid the white cast that often comes with un-tinted mineral SPFs. (To be clear, there is only one tint option, but it’s meant to be very sheer and blend in.) The sunscreen is also supposed to protect against pollution and strengthen skin.

It’s no surprise that a good SPF is one of Witherspoon’s must-haves for a busy day, because she’s spoken about her sunscreen awakening in the past.
She added that she’s making sure her kids follow suit. “I’m sure I drive them crazy.” Now, if Reese Witherspoon tells us to wear our sunscreen, we’re definitely listening.
