Timothée Chalamet proved comfort is key even when it comes to red carpet events.

The 25-year-old actor wore an all-white suit to the Met Gala 2021 in New York on 13 September. It came complete with balloon trousers and a blazer with black contrast lapel detailing, and was created by Haider Ackermann.

Unlike some celebrities who graced the red carpet dripping in bespoke beading and - in the case of L'il Nas, a gold suit of armour - the Call Me By Your Name star did not wear full head to toe designer.

Instead, he opted for a pair of hi-top men's Converse to complete the look.

Considering the theme for the first part of the annual event was 'In America: A Lexicon Of Fashion', it makes perfect sense that he opted for America's most popular trainers - the classic Chuck Taylor All Star shoes - that debuted back in the 20s, and are still as popular today.

Chalamet changed up his trainers ever so slightly, as he wore the Off-White x Chuck 70 High Sneakers, but covered up the usual black Converse emblem with what appears to be a white circle to be more red carpet-ready.

The Off-White Chuck 70 High Sneakers were created in creation with designer Virgil Abloh's brand Off White and are still available to purchase for a rather reasonable £70.

The hi-top trainers are made from a cream canvas material and feature the iconic red and blue stripe along the rubber sole.
