Shawn spoke with Audacy Music about his latest song, "Summer of Love" and opened up about the inspiration behind it: spending last summer quarantining with Camila.

"It was like writing about the first couple of months actually in the lockdown," he said. "Camila and I were so lucky because we were able to just kind of be in a still moment, and it was the first time in the past six years that we've been just able to relax and not work at all. We were going on bike rides around Miami, and it just felt really beautiful."

He continued, saying he "had a lot of nostalgia at that time" because it allowed him and Camila to grow closer. "I think without that time Camila and I would have found it a lot harder to connect. It really brought us together."

Shawn and Camila continue to self-isolate together in Miami, where they have been going on walks in order to get some fresh air about once a day. During these walks, the pair has shared some passionate kisses, carried around seemingly useless mugs, and now, they're rocking some classic self-quarantine outfits.

On their latest walk, Shawn wore a crossfit shirt with his hair pulled back in a headband. Camila, meanwhile, wore a graphic tee and some truly funky pants.

While quarantining, the pair has been keeping busy. Shawn is teaching Camila how to play guitar while Camila is teaching Shawn how to speak Spanish. On top of that, the pair has performed in two different concerts from their living room, one on Instagram Live for Global Citizen and one on Fox News with tons of other stars raising money for Feeding America and First Responders Children's Foundation.

The pair sang "Havana," "Lost in Japan," and "Señorita," while revealing that they've been spending their free time watching all of the Harry Potter movies from start to finish (BTW, Camila's fave character is Luna Lovegood, while Shawn's is Ron Weasley).

When asked about whether or not fans should be expecting some more new music from the power couple, Camila gave a very real response as to why fans will have to wait a little longer than expected.

"I want more. We want more. Honestly, we're just being in our twenties," Camila said. Just like being in love is exhausting, it takes it out of you. We can't even go to the studio. We're trying to calm down."

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Shawn and Camila discussed writing the song together after they saw each other backstage at a Taylor Swift Concert, when Shawn was her opening act. "That was the first time we had ever really spent more than a few minutes talking to each other," she said.

"We were just backstage hanging out," Shawn said about the encounter. "I pulled out my guitar and we were just messing around, not really thinking about writing a song."

The two met almost five years ago when Camila's former group Fifth Harmony was on tour, opening for Austin Mahone. Camila and Shawn recalled their first impressions of each other in an interview with V Magazine.

"I remember I wanted to hang out with you, but you were always on the tour bus, just learning guitar," Camila said.

"Yeah, that was me. I didn’t talk to anybody," Shawn remembered. "You were the only person that talked to me. Like, you were the only one of everybody on that tour who would say words to me. Actually, I think if we go into our DMs or something, there’s a photo from the day we met, I think."
