Time to Get Acquainted* With ‘Bachelorette‘ Contestant Ben Smith

In a truly on-brand move, The Bachelorette has managed to film its messiest season ever in this our year 2020. ICYMI, Clare Crawley only made it a few weeks into the show before quitting/getting purposefully replaced in a secret plot from producers (IT’S A WHOLE THING). Which brings us to the fleet of 31 random men who volunteered to group-date her. Most of these dudes stayed on to meet new Bachelorette Tayshia Adams, and a couple of them got pretty far—including Ben Smith, dude who is almost always shirtless. Here’s what we know about Ben, and please be advised that spoilers lie below.

He (Probs) Makes It to Tayshia’s Final Four

At least according to Reality Steve, who is almost never wrong about these things. Aside from Ben, Tayshia’s finalists include Ivan Hall, Zac Clark, and Brendan Morais—although there’s no word yet on who actually won. But feel free to stalk Ben’s Instagram for thirst traps clues in the meantime!

He’s a Personal Trainer

So, yeah, we should no doubt expect a lot of shots of him lifting weights whilst poetically staring into the sunset.

While Ben currently lives in Venice Beach/at the gym, he actually used to be an Army Ranger!

He Has a “Passion for Health and Nutrition”

Much like I have a passion for laziness and pizza. We’re the same!

He Wants a Wife and Kids

According to his ABC bio, “Ben is so ready to get married and is truly looking for the right woman to settle down with and start a family. Ben wants a wife who can openly communicate and stay emotionally available.”

Sounds great, but there is this somewhat harrowing caveat: “She also must be able to keep up with him on the dance floor, or at least be willing to cheer him on when he jumps in the middle of a dance battle to show off some of his winning moves.”

He’s a Hopeless Romantic

Ben’s favorite thing to do in relationships is write love letters, and he once flew across the country to meet a girl he’d never met in person before. Which is maybe more alarming than romantic, but whatever!

His “Favorite Indulgence Is an Ice Bath”

Do...not...relate.

He’s Super Close to His Sister

So definitely expect her to show up on the “hometown” dates!
