Tim Robbins remembers the legacy of ‘The Shawshank Redemption’

Actor, director and writer Tim Robbins takes fans down memory lane in Yahoo Entertainment’s Role Recall. Robbins remembers one of his most famous movies “The Shawshank Redemption.” “Wherever I go, throughout the world, people stop me and thank me for that film, and thank me because it touched something in them and it changed something in them,” he told Yahoo. The 1994 film teamed Robbins with mega-actor Morgan Freeman. “I have really fond memories of that experience with Morgan,” Robbins said. He also kept something very special from the set. “I have in my office a jar of rocks, from that yard, that the extras gave me,” he said. “I truly value that possession.” Robbins also talks about being in the first Marvel movie, “Howard the Duck.” The 1986 film is based on the comic book character published by Marvel Comics. George Lucas, yes that Lucas, was an executive producer on the movie. “This was a great job for me, at the time, because George Lucas had just done ‘Star Wars’ and it was I think the first film Marvel Universe did, so it was on paper really great.” Check out the video above for more with Tim Robbins.
