TikToker slams man telling women to dress modestly at beach
A woman says she was harassed by a man on a Florida beach after he stood in front of her holding a sign about modesty while she was wearing a bathing suit.
TikTok user @.katie.simmons, who goes by Katie on the app, questioned the sign which read, “God says Christian women dress modest” — in a now-popular TikTok with almost 660,000 views.
“Sir, it’s a beach,” Katie can be heard saying in the clip. “Are we supposed to dress modest at a beach?”
“God doesn’t want women —” the man begins before Katie interrupts.

In the past, TikTokers used the platform to expose “creepy men” or body-shaming instances in both public places like beaches and even private locations, like when one woman’s neighbor allegedly called the cops over an outfit she was wearing while walking in the neighborhood.
This case comes a month after singer Matthew West landed in hot water for his song, “Modest is Hottest.”
“Modest is hottest,” West sang in his since-deleted music video. “The latest fashion trend is a little more Amish, a little less Kardashian. What the boys really love is a turtleneck and a sensible pair of slacks. Honey, modest is hottest, sincerely, your dad.”
The backlash West faced is similar to what the man in Katie’s TikTok is facing in the comments section of her video.
“It’s like going to a bar and being mad that people are drinking,” another added. “Find a better use of your time and let people live.”
“This cannot be real,” an incredulous commenter wrote.
