TikToker reveals how to make an effortless ‘hair headband’

Brooke Phillips posts short and sweet beauty tips on TikTok. Her 205,000 followers come to her profile to learn fun hacks like how to spruce up an old shirt, styling tips and cheat braids. Phillips scored another viral hit in August, thanks to her easy hair headband how-to.

The method requires using the pull-through braid method. So if you already know it, creating this look will be a breeze. But if you don’t, now is a great time to learn the technique. Spoiler: it’s great for people who suck at braiding!

To get started section the hair off around the crown of your head. Be sure to clip the rest back or put it in a ponytail to keep it out of the way. Next, divide the section into smaller segments. Then tie each small section with a rubber band.

Take the bottom section (closest to your ear) and split the hair in two. Pull the two sections up and across, allowing the segment next to it to weave through. Then tie the two pieces into the third section. Repeat this process, splitting the hair in two and tying it into every other section, until the headband is complete.

Phillips tucks the excess strands behind her hair and secures it with hairpins. It’s a quick way to get your hair out of your face while also looking pretty cute. Perfect for summer.

The tutorial racked up 11.5 million views on TikTok.

“You literally just made me go to Dollar Tree at eight at night to get clear bands and do this. Thank you!” one person wrote.

“Wow, super cute,” another said.

“I absolutely love this. I love new neat hair ideas,” someone added.
