Observant fan spots 'ridiculous' blunder in low-budget horror film: 'Ooooff'

This, people, is why there’s a post-production process.

It’s no secret that many directors use stock footage, especially for low-budget films. Most professionals are able to seamlessly integrate stock video into their film so viewers can’t tell the difference; however, that is a bit difficult when there is a giant watermark in the middle of the footage.

For the horror film “Friend Request,” it seems as if directors Mario DeAngelis and Jason Falasco used stock footage from Shutterstock. How do we know that? Because, as TikTok user navdeezy pointed out, the filmmakers failed to remove the Shutterstock watermark.

The Shutterstock logo appears around the 8-minute mark and remains on the screen for several seconds.

Though TikTok is rife with videos of TV show and movie fails — what was “Gossip Girl” even doing? — people can’t believe how lazy this latest blunder is.

“That’s ridic!!” one person said.

“I refuse to believe this is real lol,” another user commented.

“OOOOFF,” a third person added.

This, people, is why there’s a post-production process.
