TikTok mocks influencer’s trip to Gucci restaurant: ‘Y’all really paid for 10 pieces of pasta?’

TikTok influencer Alex Georgy is keeping it “Gucci” as the kids like to say.

The fashionista vlogged about her trip at Gucci Osteria — a rooftop restaurant situated atop the luxury retailer’s store in Rodeo Drive. Yes, it’s fancy. The menu was created by Michelin-starred chef Massimo Bottura and is inspired by local Californian ingredients.

In the video, when Georgy enters the establishment a face-mask-wearing hostess takes her temperature. Yep, that’s life in the age of Covid-19. When Georgy takes the elevator upstairs all of the decor is Gucci. Meanwhile, the outdoor terrace is full of tall plants and a vibrant view.

Georgy and her boyfriend start with an order of cocktails. Then the server brings them bread and butter shaped in the brand’s signature bee logo. The influencer orders the $35 Emilia burger and the $40 handmade tortellini and each looks fairly standard. Then comes the real showstoppers: dessert. The couple snags a $20 deconstructed cheesecake with cream and a $20 architectural pistachio ice cream with toppings.

Who wouldn’t be intrigued by a luxury fashion brand’s menu created by a decorated “Chef’s Table” star? The video garnered 4.1 million TikTok views.

However, the commentariat was not so impressed by the portion sizes.

“Y’all really paid for 10 pieces of pasta?” one person said.

“I would’ve had to hit In-N-Out after,” another added.

Welp, you can’t please everyone!
