Joe Exotic, aka the Tiger King, has revealed he’s been diagnosed with prostate cancer. The Netflix star took to Twitter this weekend to ask fans for help as he begged to be released from prison for treatment.

The 57-year-old was convicted last year and is currently serving 22-years in prison for two counts of murder-for-hire of Big Cat Rescue founder Carole Baskin, and various animal abuse charges.

On Friday (May 14), Joe Exotic – real name Joseph Maldonado-Passage – posted a series of tweets about his diagnosis. He also asked fans to help his lawyer, John Phillips, get the attention of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.

“John Phillips has received my medical records from FMC Fort Worth and my PSA count came back very high for prostate cancer. The prison has approved testing to verify what stage it is in,” he tweeted. He also opened up about his symptoms, revealing he's lost a lot of weight and is suffering from painful mouth sores and vomiting.

“I don't want anyone's pity,” he added, “what I need is when John Phillips gets the evidence he is working on, I need the world to help him get President Biden, VP Harris and the Attorney General to listen to the evidence.”

The tweets revealed that Joe is still seeking presidential pardon, after former President Donald Trump told Tiger King fans he would look into Joe’s case.

Joe, who became a worldwide sensation last year, is currently not due for release until 2037.
