Tiffany Haddish is ready to be a mom. After revealing her plan to adopt a child, she’s taking a huge step in the process: beginning parenting classes. Haddish appeared on an episode of Daily Pop to discuss her plans.

“I’m taking parenting classes now to adopt,” the Girls Trip actor said during the appearance. “I’m looking at, you know, 5 and up—really, like, 7. I want them to be able to know how to use the restroom on their own and talk. I want them to know that I put in the work and I wanted them.”

She added that she’s “taken the precaution to protect” herself against an unplanned pregnancy with her boyfriend, Common. Haddish and the rapper went public with their relationship in August 2020.

The Last Black Unicorn author explained that she’s not expecting to have a child naturally. “Let me tell you, if I get pregnant, that is all God—tearing down all walls, all barriers,” she joked during the interview. “Now, if that did happen, we’re gonna hire some help, then we’re gonna cry a lot… And I’m not gonna be ‘baby mama,’ I’m gonna be ‘wife.’”

In her memoir, Tiffany Haddish wrote about how she spent time in the foster care system. There were also times when she didn’t have any money and decided to sell her eggs. “Here’s something everybody don’t know, I'’m going to tell you,” she revealed. “When I was 21, I was really hard up with money and gave up a bunch of eggs. So who knows? I might got some kids out in these streets. I doubt it, though, because I never got the bonus.”

When it comes to having a child through surrogacy, the Kids Say the Darndest Things host says it’s not for her: “I don’t want to pay nobody to carry my baby neither because then I have to go through a process of giving myself injections and all that stuff.”
