  • Tia Mowry dropped some words of wisdom for anyone still focusing on a perfect postpartum body, in a recent Instagram post.

  • The 43-year-old shared her love for her pre, intra, and post-baby body, and encouraged other moms to love theirs.

  • The actress is mom to 3-year-old Cairo and 10-year-old Cree.

Tia Mowry is done concerning herself with what other people think about her postpartum body. The 43-year-old has been hard at work filming her newest holiday film Miracle in Motor City, and she just recently released her newest book The Quick Fix Kitchen. In a recent Instagram post, the actress clapped back at anyone who doesn’t think her body is amazing just the way it is.

The Family Reunion star posted a slide of three photos: one with her pregnant belly from 2018 and two recent shots postpartum. All the photos show a super glowy, incredibly happy Mowry.

“Pregnancy was such a special time in my life, and I loved it and my bump! I also loved my body before pregnancy,” Mowry captioned the post. “We’re led to believe we should love one over the other. But it was important for me to be super proud of BOTH bodies instead of feeling pressured to be a part of the snapback culture.”

The cookbook author pushed back at the thought of needing to get her pre-baby body back stat and encouraged other moms to treat their bodies with the love and respect they deserve.

“I think instead, we can look at our bodies and love and acknowledge them for keeping us alive and keeping our babies alive,” she captioned the photos. “Mamas, we can allow our bodies to just BE while we nourish them (and our little ones!) with good things, instead of buying into the snapback culture.”

This isn’t the first time the mom of two has opened up about her feelings around pregnancy. She recently posted a throwback photo rocking blue and white bikini bottoms with a long-sleeve bikini top, showing off her pregnant belly and throwing up peace signs.

“Absolutely love this photo and the raw beauty behind it,” she captioned the image. “A woman’s body is so beautiful y’all, and the fact that it can produce a human life is so precious. I’m blessed that I had the ability, and I hope all future mothers out there never stop giving up.”

In another Instagram post, she shared a throwback photo laughing with her hand resting over her pregnant belly, billowed by an open, white button-down shirt.

“God I miss being pregnant,” the actress wrote in the caption. “It was never easy for me. But I’m so glad I never gave up on my dreams of becoming a mom. No matter how we get to motherhood–surrogacy, IVF, natural conception, or adoption. Shout out to all the mothers out there who are doing the damn thing. Who run the world? #MOMS!”

Followers rooted for Mowry during her pregnancy with her daughter—now 3-year-old Cairo—in 2018. The actress posted to Instagram to acknowledge her gestational diabetes and mastitis diagnosis. After giving birth, the actress revealed she struggled breastfeeding and to pump while working, and explained how her body wasn’t quite what she expected postpartum.

“Still breastfeeding and pumping while working. Has it been easy? No. However, I’ve continued to push through #mastitis and working sometimes 16-hour days,” she wrote in the caption. “Do I still have a little pouch? Yes. Ever heard of #DiastasisRecti? It’s when the abs separate during pregnancy. Shining a spotlight on this because I had never heard of it.”

The Sister Sister star has been vocal in the past—dishing on her 68-pound weight loss after giving birth to her daughter.

“I’m very proud I did it my way and in my time. I didn’t feel rushed to snap back. I enjoyed breastfeeding and spending quality time with #Cairo and my son #Cree,” she wrote in an Instagram post.
