Thrivent explores plans for its Appleton based operations center and surrounding 600 acres
APPLETON – Thrivent, a Fortune 500 diversified financial services organization, is exploring development plans for its Appleton headquarters and the surrounding 600 acres of land.
The organization says it will work with city officials and the community on a "Master Development Plan" for its Ballard Operations Center, 4321 N. Ballard Road.
Paul Johnston, the chief legal officer, general counsel and secretary of Thrivent, said in a news release that the organization no longer has a need for the large space it currently operates.
"As we look to the future, the needs of our team and business have changed, our teams have continued to thrive in a hybrid and remote environment and we now have fewer teams going into the office," Johnston said. "We don’t need as much physical space, and the space we need is for collaboration and connection for our team."
Additionally, Johnston said the Ballard Operations Center is in need of significant repairs.
Thrivent is considering a number of options for its 1,500 Appleton-based employees, including renovating the Ballard Operations Center, building a new and smaller building on the existing property or leasing space in a different Appleton location.
The organization says it will work on the "Master Development Plan" with Appleton officials and also let the community offer feedback.
