For the first time during the recruiting rankings-era, a five-star HBCU signee is set to speak at SWAC Media Day.

Jackson State cornerback Travis Hunter, the nation's No. 1 overall college football prospect for the Class of 2022, will address the media along with head coach Deion Sanders and quarterback Shedeur Sanders.

The event will be broadcasted live on ESPN 3 from the Sheraton Birmingham Hotel in Alabama. Coverage begins at 10 a.m.

With the Hunter, the Sanders father-son duo, former Cleveland Brown coach Hue Jackson and reigning FCS Defensive Player of the Year Isiah Land, this year's event has the potential to be one of the more memorable SWAC Media Days in recent history.

Here are three storylines to keep an eye on.

Conference realignment

The college football landscape is shifting towards super conferences, with the SEC set to add Texas and Oklahoma and the Big Ten set to add USC and UCLA.

Some of the more prominent HBCUs, such as Hampton and North Carolina A&T, have made moves of their own at the FCS level.

But, with an FCS-record 42,293 average attendance last year and one of the country's most dynamic coaches in Sanders, Jackson State could end up being an attractive option for a non-Power 5 FBS conference looking to make a splash.

If it were to make such a move, Jackson State would become the first HBCU in college football history to play at the FBS level. Deion Sanders said on ESPN last week that the school is talking about moving up. Athletic director Ashley Robinson told The Clarion Ledger last month that he's focused on dominating the FCS level.

With so many changes going on in both FBS and FCS, and with Jackson State having a program-changing level of momentum right now, JSU at least will be a part of the realignment discussion.

The hype for Travis Hunter

Part of the reason Travis Hunter picked Jackson State over Deion Sanders' alma mater Florida State is that he wants to be a trailblazer.

By becoming the first five-star prospect to choose an HBCU during the recruiting rankings era, he has already earned that status.

Now, he will attempt to demonstrate that attending an HBCU is a viable option for top prospects who may be considering following in his footsteps.

He's also to play on both sides of the ball this season, which is a rarity in college football these days.

Hunter's talent will draw plenty of intrigue in him and JSU. His performance will determine whether or not it stays.

What will Shedeur Sanders do for encore?

Shedeur Sanders had a historic debut season for Jackson State, leading JSU to a SWAC title and a Celebration Bowl appearance en route to winning FCS freshman of the year.

Since Alabama A&M's Aqeel Glass had graduated, the expectation is for Sanders to establish himself as the top quarterback in the SWAC and to bring Jackson State it's first Celebration Bowl title.

Anything less than that would be a regression for the quarterback who was a second-team all-conference selection last season.

There's no shortage of weapons for Sanders to throw to. Two of Jackson State's top three receivers, Shane Hooks and Malachi Wideman, are back. Add in Hunter and four-star receiver Kevin Coleman, and the receiving core could be special.

But, for Sanders to top last year's production, JSU must show that its lineman can do a better job of protecting him. JSU must show it can run the ball effectively after finishing last in the SWAC last season. And Sanders, who went 24-52 with more interceptions than touchdowns during JSU's two postseason games must show he can take over when it matters most.
