Three Palm Beach County restaurants among Yelp’s ‘Top 100 Places to Eat in the U.S.’

Yelpers have spoken: In Palm Beach County, their raves helped put three restaurants on Yelp’s “Top 100 Places to Eat in the U.S.” list for 2022.

Local voters on the global crowd-sourced review site gave high marks to:

The Wine Room Kitchen and Bar, Delray Beach

The restaurant placed 31st on the “Top 100” list. The restaurant is popular for its self-serve Enomatic wine system that offers a choice of 200-plus wines by the pour. According to Yelp’s “Top 100” page, member Brittany B. offered “five stars” to The Wine Room as her “top pick for an informal date night or girls night in Delray Beach.” The interactive nature of the restaurant allows diners to “walk around, mingle and have some fun,” she said.

The review site quotes member Alejandra B., who describes the restaurant this way: “This quaint house, which was remodeled into a restaurant, is full of charm and makes for a perfect night out.”

The iconic restaurant is no stranger to Yelp love. Dada made Yelp’s national “Top 100 Most Romantic Restaurants” list in 2019.

Wednesdays belong to $15 fried chicken dinner with half-off on sparkling wine or beer. Thursdays are $1 Florida oyster nights.

According to Yelp, member Marianna P. raved about Sassafras’ vegetable grain bowl: “Typically restaurants overlook vegan/vegetarian options, but this was exploding with flavor.”

Other Florida restaurants on the 'Top 100' list

Palm Beach County scored big on this “Top 100” list in comparison to other Florida counties. Palm Beach was the only county in the state to earn more than one place on the list. In fact, the list includes only five Florida restaurants in total.

Other Florida nods went to Shunk Gulley Oyster Bar in Santa Rosa Beach on the Panhandle (No. 65) and Covey Kitchen, located inside the Hotel Eleo at the University of Florida (No. 69).

How did Yelp come up with this (Miami-less) list? According to the “Top 100” list page and Yelp’s West Palm Beach community manager Melodie Malfa, the site asks its members to submit their favorite dining spots, then Yelp’s data science team ranks them by sifting the total number of submissions, member reviews, ratings, geographic representation and other factors.
