Thor Was Almost Running Up That Hill in 'Love and Thunder'

Say what you want about the Marvel Cinematic Universe's offerings of late, but at least they've been fun to listen to. Case in point? 2017's Thor: Ragnarok, which essentially used Led Zeppelin's "Immigrant Song" as its theme track.

Now, we're only a couple of weeks away from director Taika Waititi's follow-up to Ragnarok, Thor: Love and Thunder. Of course, we're on the lookout for more soundtrack tidbits after the film's first trailer delightfully jazzed up "Sweet Child o' Mine." Thankfully, Christian Bale, who plays the villainous Gorr the God Butcher in Love and Thunder, is teasing the goods. In an interview with Total Film, Bale gave a hilariously of-the-moment comment about what's looking like a certain artist who missed the final cut. “There’s obviously sort of a Nosferatu slight attitude," Bale said of Gorr. "Taika and I wanted to do a whole dance, which we didn’t get to do, but we had all this sort of Kate Bush stuff that we worked at. But I think he just realized he was never going to be allowed to put that in the final film.”

Is Bale suggesting that Love and Thunder almost featured full choreography set to a Kate Bush track like "Cloudbusting," "Babooshka," or, hell, "Running Up That Hill?" You have to wonder if Stranger Things putting "Running Up That Hill" back in vogue discouraged Waititi and co. from staging another such moment. (Our feelings? There's no such thing as too much Kate Bush.) Regardless, we're still excited for what the Love and Thunder crew cooks up. Let's hold some hope that Bale gets the song and dance treatment, anyway.
