Forget Facebook, people. If you’re the parent of an adolescent, then you know it’s all about Snapchat — the social media app that has now, according to a Bloomberg report, officially surpassed Twitter in its total number of daily users, topping out at more than 150 million (compared with Twitter’s 140 million).

Though Snapchat launched just four years ago, its novelty of allowing users to message with photos that quickly expire has made it soar in popularity. Now it has become the primary way to communicate, via mobile, for anyone under 23 — and a baffling secret language for the older among us, especially parents.

But now, thanks to the translation chops of Yahoo Tech’s David Pogue in the video above, Snapchat doesn’t have to be a total mystery (even if that freaky little ghost is).
